Aliro is developing new software to make near-term quantum computers more usable and useful. Our tools work across hardware platforms and use state-of-the-art methods to optimize execution. We are hiring a Research Software Engineer who is passionate about solving complex problems and building new software to enable the quantum revolution. As a ResearchSoftware Engineer, you will not only develop new techniques, but will also implement them in our stack and product offerings. You will also work closely with the rest of the research team in developing new ideas and clever approaches to some of the hardest problems facing quantum computing today.
What You'll Do:
1. Leverage software engineering skills and creative thinking to develop novel quantum software solutions
2. Define concrete problems in an abstract and emerging area of research, come up with creative solutions, and implement in existing code stack
Required Background:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Physics, Math, EE, or a related field
2. At least 2 years of professional experience programming in popular programming languages (Python/C++/etc.)
3. Ability to break down abstract problems into small iterable parts
4. Good communication skills
Preferred Background:
1. Graduate degree in CS, Physics, Math, EE, or a related field
2. Publications in a related field
Bonus Background:
1. Quantum computing experience or training
